Fantasma by Cornelius is often regarded as “the Shibuya-kei album to end all Shibuya-kei albums.” It employs sampling, loops, and other experimental techniques to paint a fantastical world. To give its most recent digital remastered version a physical form, the album redesign focused on six graphic qualities of the music: flat geometry, meditative, fantasy, space, movement, and digital tech. The packaging and booklet also took inspiration from crosswalks in Tokyo, and use them as a mark and drawing tool to represent each song.
