This exhibit is a pop-up installation introducing Spanish architect Enric Miralles to the City of Providence in Rhode Island. In Miralles' work, he reacts to the designated site with sophistication and a sense for sculpture. He develops a core concept that speaks to the location, then doubles down on how a building is expressed. Located next to the Providence River, the structure borrows meaning and highlights formal elements from the city’s maritime history, inspired by Miralles' own approach to designing architecture.
